Honouring Life with Compassion & Care
Interfaith Minister for Funerals
Saying goodbye to a loved one is one of life’s hardest moments, and I am here to help you honour their life with dignity and love. I create compassionate, heartfelt funeral ceremonies that celebrate the unique life and legacy of your loved one.
Whether you prefer a traditional, secular, interfaith, or spiritual service, I will work with you to design a ceremony that brings comfort and healing to family and friends, while truly reflecting the person you are remembering.
HOLDING FUNERAL & MEMORIAL SPACE
There’s no right way to say goodbye. Grief is personal, raw, and often confusing. When someone we love dies, we’re not just mourning their absence—we’re navigating a whole new world without them in it.
As a OneSpirit Interfaith Minister, it’s my privilege to hold space for families in those tender early days of loss. My role is to walk alongside you, gently and without judgment, helping you honour your loved one in a way that feels meaningful, respectful, and true to their life and spirit.
What Does It Mean to “Hold Space”?
To hold space means to create a safe, calm, and supportive environment where people can feel their emotions freely—without having to perform or pretend.
In practical terms, this looks like:
- Listening deeply to the family’s stories and memories
- Helping you shape a ceremony that reflects the person who has died—whether religious, spiritual, or non-religious
- Writing and delivering a eulogy (or helping you write your own)
- Coordinating music, readings, poetry, or symbolic rituals
- Offering compassion and presence, not platitudes or clichés
Sometimes, that space is in a crematorium or at a graveside. Sometimes, it’s a memorial gathering in a garden or a home. Wherever it takes place, the purpose is the same: to honour, remember, and begin to release.
Supporting You in the Newness of Grief
Grief doesn’t follow rules or timelines. In the early days after a death, everything can feel unfamiliar and overwhelming. My job is not to fix your grief—but to support you within it.
I’m here to:
- Help you find words when words feel impossible
- Be calm when the world feels chaotic
- Hold the threads of memory, love, sorrow, and celebration together in one shared moment
- Remind you: you are not alone in this
Every Life Deserves to Be Remembered with Care
Whether your loved one was deeply spiritual, didn’t believe in any higher power, or just had a great sense of humour and a love of dogs—I will work with you to create a ceremony that feels honest, warm, and human.
I can also help with:
- Celebration of Life ceremonies
- Ashes scattering rituals
- Anniversary or remembrance events
- Unattended services with personal readings or blessings
a Gentle Hand in a Hard Time
If you’ve recently lost someone and don’t know where to start, please reach out. I’ll meet you with care, patience, and a listening ear. Together, we’ll create a moment of beauty and remembrance—because your person mattered, and they deserve to be honoured with love.
